This $10 Durian Buffet In JB Lets You Enjoy Free-Flow MSW, Red Prawn And More

Yi Foon Durian has $10 durian buffet in JB

July is durian season, which means it’s the peak month for you to indulge in the king of fruits at reasonable prices. Durian buffets are the best way to try a wide selection of this spiky fruit, but they are usually not the most wallet-friendly in Singapore. If you’re planning a trip to Johor Bahru (JB) soon, drop by Yi Foon Durian to enjoy their durian buffet for just RM34 per person, which amounts to around S$10.

The current exchange rate is RM1 = ~S$0.30 as of 8 July 2025.

There are two types of durian buffets here—the basic costs RM34, while the premium one is priced at RM68 per person. Since you’re paying more for the latter option, you’re given access to pricier durian types such as Red Prawn, Black Thorn, and Golden Phoenix.

There’s a good variety of durian varieties to choose from, starting with the classic D24. This durian type is known for its firmer flesh with a good balance between tart and sweet flavours.

The most popular of the lot has to be Mao Shan Wang (MSW), rightfully well-loved for its rich and buttery mouthfeel. It’s also easy to distinguish MSW for its distinct bittersweet aftertaste.

It’s also easy to tell Red Prawn apart from the rest as it boasts an orangey, reddish hue. In terms of flavour and texture, it leans sweeter than it is bitter, and is creamy with a fibrous bite.

There’s no time limit to the durian buffet, so bring a group of friends to enjoy the seasonal fruit when it tastes best. FYI, Yi Foon Durian is a 20-minute drive from the customs.

If you don’t want to travel all the way to JB, check out FairPrice Xtra durian buffet at JEM and VivoCity instead. Alternatively, Durian Fiesta at Goodwood Park Hotel is now happening till 10 August 2025.
