3 Meals a Day opens new outlet at Jalan Besar

If you’re a fan of salted egg chicken rice, you’ll want to listen up. 3 Meals a Day, arguably the most famous name to offer the dish, has opened yet another outlet, this time at Jalan Besar! This is their third outlet, with the other two at Hougang and more famously, Sim Lim Square.

For $7, you can enjoy a plate of the stall’s famous Creamy Salted Egg Chicken Rice. This dish features crispy fried chicken pieces that remain tender and juicy inside, generously coated in a rich salted egg yolk sauce. The sauce is packed with savoury goodness and has a subtle spicy kick. Served alongside are fluffy white rice, a perfectly cooked sunny-side-up egg, and a crunchy side of keropok to complete the meal.

There’s a wide variety of other chicken and rice dishes here, including the Cheesy Butter Chicken Rice ($7.50), Dried Chilli Chicken Rice ($6.50), and Stir Fried Chicken w/ Ginger & Spring Onion Rice ($6.50).
If you prefer pork, you can go for dishes such as Cereal Pork Ribs w/ Rice ($7) and Salted Egg Pork Ribs w/ Rice ($6.50). Meanwhile, those who prefer seafood can get the Salted Egg Fish w/ Rice ($5.90), Butter Fish w/ Rice ($5.90) and more.

While most people are there for the rice dishes, you can also enjoy a zi char-style meal at 3 Meals a Day. Order the likes of Signature Fried Fish Head ($28), Deep Fried Prawn Paste Chicken Mid Wings (from $14), Chilli Crab (seasonal price) and more to really feast here with friends and family.
