Food holds fond memories for me—when I think of potong ice cream, I’m instantly teleported back to my primary school days. It was one of the sweet treats my brother and I looked forward to having while walking back home after school. So when I chanced upon 60 Alley Bakes & Coffee, a hidden cafe along Arab Street that sells waffles with potong ice cream, the younger me was delighted.

This cafe is so hidden that you can only enter through their back door. And as their name suggests, they’re tucked away in an alley that’s located away from the main dining area along Arab Street.

Now on to the cafe’s offerings, the Waffle with Ice Cream Potong ($4.50) here reminds you of what you get from a traditional ice cream cart, zhnged up with a freshly baked waffle. You get to choose from five different ice cream flavours: Tutti Fruity, Raspberry Ripple, Cookies and Cream, Vanilla, and Chocolate.

If you prefer the classic, old-school waffles, opt for their Waffles with Spread ($2.50) instead. Besides must-haves such as Kaya and Peanut Butter, you also get trendy flavours with the likes of Nutella and Biscoff.

Let’s not forget about the coffee—a cup of Latte, Cappuccino or Hot Chocolate is priced at $4 here, which is slightly cheaper than what you would get in other cafes across Singapore. For those with a sweet tooth, you can also add a shot of Vanilla or Caramel for $1!

Many seem to love their freshly baked Cookies (from $4), so you can consider buying a packet for yourself before leaving the cafe.
