Le Matin Patisserie has new brunch menu at ION Orchard
When Le Matin Patisserie, a famed online bakery by ex-Noma chef Mohamed Al-Matin, opened at ION Orchard earlier this year, their launch was met with much fanfare. Fast forward to six months later, the popular cafe has rolled out a new menu, comprising brunch mains, sides, desserts and more!
To start, whet your appetite with quintessential Bread & Butter ($9++): two whole-wheat milk buns with a side of fermented porcini butter.
The buns are baked to perfection: you get a delicious crust on the outside and an uber-fluffy crumb within. Slather on a generous slab of the umami-packed, whipped butter.
Another new starter on the all-day menu is the Crab Waffles ($20.90++).
This sharing side stars crispy, nori-dusted waffles made with seafood butter, served with a side of umami crab tartare and taramasalata, which is a fish roe-infused dip.
Pair each waffle with some of that creamy dip for the ultimate combo that’s umami, savoury, and slightly sweet all at once.
For mains, you won’t go wrong with the Steak Frites ($42.90++): 200g hanger steak that’s cooked to a perfect medium-rare, doused in Café de Paris Sauce, which is a herb-forward butter sauce. This also comes with a side of house-made fries and charred broccolini.
Don’t miss out on a whole new lineup of desserts, too!
The Mangosteen & Lychee Granita ($14.90++)Â is a great palate cleanser comprising mangosteen sorbet, lychee granita, and lemongrass bubbles.
Otherwise, the Soufflé Au Chocolat ($18.90++) is an ideal way to end your meal on an indulgent note. This sweet treat comprises dark chocolate souffle with a fragrant hazelnut praline, finished with a quenelle of reduced milk ice cream.
We also enjoyed the Lemon Thyme Madeleines ($12.90++), ideal for snacking on at any time of the day.
Baked to order, these buttery morsels are not your regular madeleines—they’re spiked with lemon and thyme for an additional dimension. Dunk them into the fir syrup cream on the side for a well-balanced treat that’s sweet, herby, and very addictive.
Before you leave, don’t forget to try the latest addition to their pastry lineup: Paris-Brest ($16.90++). This stunning treat features light and airy choux with a whipped hazelnut ganache in between, topped with even more caramelised Piedmonte hazelnuts and crunchy hazelnut praline.
Do note that this dine-in menu is available from Wednesday to Sunday, 11am to 2:30pm, 6pm to 9pm. The pastries on display are available for order all day.
When we first visited Le Matin Patisserie in February 2023, we enjoyed the Truffle Scrambled Eggs Croissant ($28.90++) and Seafood Pot Pie ($26.90++). Good news: both items are still available on the menu!
There’s also the nutty Cashew Tart ($16.90++), made with cashew frangipane, cashew nougatine, and a fragrant orange blossom filo pastry. It’s served with a dollop of sherry wine-infused cream on the side.
