While our sunny island is home to many drool-worthy high tea spots, I find most of the prices bo hua given that we are being served morsels of food. Hence, this affordable high tea in Singapore list is for people like me who wish to step tai tai, but do not want to spend like one. Priced under $35++ per person, you definitely get value for money to go with those atas vibes.

Tucked away in Seletar Aerospace Park, Wildseed Cafe offers a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of urban life. Make yourself at home in this charming colonial house, and pamper yourself with their Afternoon Tea Set ($58++ for two).

Start off with the Mango Panna Cotta, then continue on with their Chocolate Choux before refreshing your palate with bites of their Crab Salad Croissant. End off your meal sipping a coffee, to go along with their sweet Macarons to complete your afternoon tea session!

2. Violet Oon

Violet Oon is one of Singapore’s pre-eminent authorities in Peranakan food, so expect to find legit Nyonya kueh in their Singapore High Tea Set ($59++ for two). There are 13 different bites on the platter, including their signature Kuay Pie Tee, so you can definitely stretch your dollar.

Special mention goes to their Sweet Potato Kueh. Sink your teeth into this soft and chewy sweet potato cake, dressed in freshly grated coconut. For those who prefer savoury bites, their Chilli Crab Tartlet with Quail Egg delivers a bit of a spicy kick.

3. TWG Tea

TWG Tea is synonymous with atas tea blends, so it’s no surprise that their tea time set menus are just as classy and luxurious. If you’re a tai tai on a budget, their 1837 ($20++) tea set is best suited for you. Pair a cup of tea with your choice of two muffins or scones, served with TWG tea jelly and whipped cream. 

For those who prefer a more extensive selection, their Chic ($35++) set for two is a better alternative. This comes with an assortment of sandwiches, sweets, and tea, plus their signature scones or muffins.

4. Brunches Cafe

Exploring Brunches Cafe is akin to a treasure hunt. From the rotary dial phone to the gramophone, you’ll stumble upon a litany of old-school gems at this vintage cafe. The jewel in the crown is this refurbished Mini Cooper, converted into a seating booth; every spot is simply too IG-worthy to pass. However, this spot is highly coveted, so be sure to call in advance to chope!

Once you’re settled in, lean on the leather sofa and tuck into the Brunches High Tea Set ($44.90++ for two). There are only 10 of these sets available each day, housed in an intricate birdcage. This set offers a selection of sweet and savoury treats, including mini burgers, tarts, and cakes, plus a pot of tea. End your afternoon with their Cooling & Inner Strength ($7.50++) tea and enjoy the reinvigorating notes of red dates and dried longan.

5. JUMBO Seafood ION Orchard


JUMBO Seafood doesn’t only serve crabs and seafood, but has a very affordable Afternoon Tea Set (from $59++) as well that’s exclusive to their ION Orchard outlet. Items rotate every few months, but you’ll always get the Chilli Crab Meat Sauce with Sliced Fried ‘Mantou’ in their set, alongside other seafood-focused savouries. FYI, this is a great one if you’re a fan of more savoury high teas, as there are only two sweets out of the 12 items in the set.

6. Sol & Luna

The sister restaurant to Sol & Ora is Sol & Luna, located in the tranquil Sky Garden at CapitaSpring, AKA right smack in CBD. 17 floors up from the bustle of the city, you’ll be surprised to find that the High Tea Menu here will set you back just $32++ a person!

Expect a selection of delectable treats here that’ll satisfy both sweet and savoury cravings: Smoked Pulled Duck on sourdough, Mini Wagyu Beef Sliders, Strawberry Lemon Yoghurt Tarts and more.

7. The Coastal Settlement

Head to The Coastal Settlement for afternoon tea that’s priced at $19++ per person. You’ll have to bring at least one other person with you, however, because there’s a minimum order of two for this afternoon tea set. Each diner gets a free flow of coffee or tea, as well as local delights such as beef rendang, siew mai, and prawn crackers, alongside assorted cakes and pastries.

Other than the afternoon tea set, The Coastal Settlement also has a selection of snacks, pizzas, and desserts that are available during the high tea hours of 3:30pm to 5:30pm daily. Get Spam Fries ($16++), or Portobello Fries ($16++): deep-fried panko-coated mushrooms dusted with parmesan and served with truffle mayo.

8. Ju Xing Home


For high tea at just $21.80++ for two, pay a visit to Ju Xing Home in Takashimaya Shopping Centre. The Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant from Hong Kong now has an affordable teatime set with five courses, available on weekdays, from 2:30pm to 5:30pm.

To start, choose from a range of snacks, ranging from Fried Fish Skin With Salted Egg to Black Fungus Salad. After that, you get to pick a meat dish, a veggie, a carb, and finally, a dessert. It’s a seriously affordable option for dining along Orchard Road, so be sure to dine there while this cheap afternoon tea promo is still ongoing.

9. Ms Durian


If you love durian as much as we do, you’ll go gaga for the Afternoon Tea Set at Ms Durian. The Jalan Besar cafe is known for their wide range of dishes that highlight the King of Fruits, and the high tea is no exception. The set is priced at an affordable $39+ for two, or $19.50+ per person. There are five items on the menu, including four desserts, and one drink. Each has a different “durian intensity” according to the menu, so it’s recommended that you try them from the least to the most intense. Diners start off with the Fried Durian treat, and move along to the rich MSW Durian Coffee, before digging into indulgent MSW desserts such as macarons and a cheese mousse. The high tea is available daily from 12pm to 6pm.

10. Tsui Wah


Hong Kong is the land of yum cha, so it’s no surprise that they do afternoon tea well. If you’re looking for cheap high tea and Hong Kong fare, head down to Tsui Wah on a weekday, between 2:30pm to 5:30pm. There, you’ll find their HK-Style Afternoon Tea Set, available from $8.80++. You get four different sets to choose from, each served with a main and a hot drink. The cheapest option is the sweet French Toast with Ovaltine Cream and Koko Crunch, but there’s also Satay Beef Instant Noodles with Scrambled Egg and other savoury noodle dishes to choose from.

11. Gyutan-Tan Ngee Ann City


Gyutan-Tan’s sophomore outlet in Ngee Ann City has an exclusive high tea on the menu, with only 10 sets a day available. For $42++, the set, which feeds two, comes with a range of Japanese bites, from mini gyutan sliders to egg and ham sandwiches, daifuku and house-made butter cake. The set is beautifully presented on a wooden tray and has some photogenic desserts to zoom in on, including the once-viral raindrop cake. The set is available daily, from 3pm to 5:30pm.

12. Spruce

Spruce at Hillv2 is a great spot for cheap high tea in the West. The bistro has a Daily High Tea Set priced at $56++ for two, which works out to just $28++ per person. Each set come with 10 items and two drinks. While items rotate from time to time, you can expect small bites such as cream puffs, swiss rolls, and scones.

13. Atico Lobby Lounge

Atico Lobby Lounge is more than just a dinnertime destination. In fact, the rooftop lounge has a relatively affordable high tea option, priced at $35++ per person. Each set comes with 10 different items, five savoury, five sweet. These range from classics such as Smoked Salmon with Citrus Cream Cheese and Chocolate Praline Choux Puff, as well as interesting bites like the White Corn & Octopus Ceviche. You can top-up $10++ for a glass of wine or prosecco too. The high tea is available daily from 12pm to 6pm, except for the eve of, and on public holidays.
