This neighbourhood cafe at Kovan Road serves up French fare with a Japanese influence, and is also led by renowned Chef Haikal Johari, who heads the one-Michelin-starred restaurant Alma by Juan Amador in Scotts Road.

Upon entering, the bright and cheerful atmosphere of Alkove Bistro immediately captures your attention. The space boasts a clean modern charm, adorned with pastel yellow and orange accents for a welcoming ambience. The menu is diverse, featuring soups, sides, tartines, mains, brunch fare, desserts, and an array of baked goods.

For starters, the French Onion Soup ($12.90++) feels like a warm embrace on a rainy day. This classic French dish is made with French Cevennes onions with miso beef stock, imparting a rich and umami flavour.
