Anchor Cafe & Roastery in Batam has Southern food and coffee
If you’re planning a quick weekend getaway to Batam, consider adding Anchor Cafe & Roastery to your itinerary. This cosy and homely cafe serves Southern comfort dishes and offers a wide range of coffee beans, with over 20 types to choose from!
A quick 15-minute ride from Batam Ferry Terminal will take you to Anchor Cafe & Roastery, well-loved by locals and tourists alike.
To start, share the Piping Hot Spinach Dip (Rp 100,000+/~S$9.50+), a fun way to eat your greens. This rich and creamy spinach and cheese dip is made fresh daily and served alongside pita wedges and veggie sticks for dipping.
It’s ooey gooey in the best way possible; make sure you tuck in stat while it’s hot for the ultimate cheese pull shot!
Another signature item on the menu is the All American Patty Melt (Rp 100,000+/~S$9.50+). This hearty sandwich stars a properly thicc beef patty, sweet caramelised onions, melty cheddar, and a house-made Thousand Island dressing. It’s assembled and buttered on both sides, then toasted till golden.
The cafe also offers an extensive selection of coffee beans and brewing methods to choose from. We tried the 24 oz CHEMEX Brew with Geisha, Colombia Beans (Rp 50,000+/~S$4.70+), which boasts light and pleasant notes of chamomile, passionfruit, and lavender.

You’ll also find barista-brewed, espresso-based coffee including Pumpkin Spiced Latte (Rp 60,000+/~S$5.70) and Peppermint Mocha Latte (Rp 53,000+/~S$5+).
