ASK Coffee Roastery, also known as Akusukakopi, translates to “I love coffee” in Malay. Based in Shah Alam, Selangor, they first started out as a pop-up coffee concept store in 2018. After the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, they decided to switch their focus to become a small batch roaster that offers an international selection of specialty coffee beans.

Their new outlet in Singapore boasts a classy, minimalist aesthetic, decked with warm lights for a homey feel.
ASK Coffee Roastery has an extensive selection of specialty coffee to choose from, starting from $4 for a cup of Espresso or Americano. If you have a sweet tooth, try their Flavoured Coffee (from $7), which comes in Caramel, Salted Caramel and Hazelnut flavours.
You can also get their original house blends at their new outlet, which were previously only available on their online store. These blends are named after numbers: ‘Satu’, ‘Dua’, ‘Tiga’ and ‘Empat’, which directly translate to one, two, three and four in Malay. Prices for their blends start from $45 per kilogram.
Each blend has a unique flavour; ‘Satu’, for example, is blended with beans from Brazil and Colombia, which gives a good balance of sweetness and acidity, with hints of chocolate and caramel.
You can also get their filter coffee here. One of their popular bean selections here is the Yunnan Red Wine, which has a sweet and fruity flavour. A packet of their filter coffee beans will set you back $20 for 250g. Alternatively, you can also enjoy it as Yunnan Red Wine Latte ($8) at their cafe.
