It’s becoming increasingly difficult to find affordable breakfast options. Even popular local breakfast joints, which are supposedly on the cheaper end of the spectrum, are seeing a steep hike in prices due to rising food costs. That’s when old-school bakeries such as Bake Of, a humble stall at Amoy Street Food Centre, step in.

Bake Of offers a variety of wallet-friendly bakes such as muffins, scones, and brownies. They are most known for their muffins which come in flavours including Oreo ($1.60), Blueberry ($1.60), Coffee Walnut ($1.70), Apple Cinnamon ($1.60), Matcha Cream Cheese ($2) and many more depending on the day.

One bite into any of their freshly baked muffins will confirm what many customers claim: these cakes are said to be fluffy, moist and delicious—everything a good muffin should be. Many regulars also speak of the lovely aroma that you get a whiff of as you pass by the stall during baking time.

Whether it be for breakfast or a quick mid-afternoon snack, Bake Of’s muffins are a popular pick amongst office workers, students, and those who frequent the CBD area. They are also relatively large despite the low prices, which makes them super value for money!

The affordability of their bakes is not just limited to their muffins—their cakes, brownies, and scones are also all under $2. Go for old-school favourites such as their Banana Cake ($1.90) or other classics including their Cranberry Scones ($2).

The Salted Chocolate Brownie ($1.70) is also another hot pick amongst the stall’s patrons!
