Though FoodBarn has a breakfast menu, many people go straight for their sandwiches. Monday Coffee Bar first opened in Ang Mo Kio, but more recently expanded to the HDB estate of NorthArc in Clementi. This cosy new cafe offers daily brunch deals between 11am to 3pm, with prices averaging just above $10++. On their menu is a range of affordable sandos: the Prawn Sandwich ($7.50++), for instance, features prawns sauteed with garlic butter, grated cucumber, and wasabi mayo. Similarly, there’s the Roasted Chicken Sandwich ($10.50++), which comprises oven-baked chicken breast, fresh purple cabbage, and maple sauce sandwiched between brioche toast.

30. Warabimochi Kamakura


Warabimochi Kamakura has over 50 outlets overseas. You can find them at the One Holland Village Mall in Singapore. They specialise in making Warabimochi, a Japanese mochi dessert that is coated in soybean powder. At this outlet, you can get their mochi in a 2-Piece Cup ($4.90) or with Ice Cream ($6.90). If not, you can also enjoy it in a 5-Piece Box ($8.90) or a 10-Piece Box ($14.90)

31. Surrey Hills Grocer


Surrey Hills Grocer may have closed its Jurong outlet, but it is making it up to westies by opening a new outlet at One Holland Village! Try their Pincho ($22++), featuring Wagyu rib fingers charcoal-grilled on a skewer. Otherwise, opt for their outlet-exclusive Truffled Wagyu Donut ($35++) which is served with crispy fries and a truffle cheese dip on the side. Spot Keong Saik Bakery in the serene neighborhood of Chip Bee Gardens, where you can dine in to enjoy a range of their outlet-exclusive bakes. Get the popular Miso Kouign-Amann ($4.70++), featuring a winning combination of buttery, savoury, and umami flavours all in one. For something more substantial, their KSB Black Sesame Toast ($15.90++) is a great choice; you get a toasted shokupan packed with a muah chee and walnut praline centre, finished with black sesame paste. Else, you can’t go wrong with the Grilled Cheese Sandwich ($15.90++) starring three different types of cheese.

We love a good gelato cafe and you Westies are lucky to have Birds of Paradise at Holland Piazza, the first homegrown brand’s branch in the West. A single scoop of gelato costs $5.50 here, while a double scoop costs $9. The flavours available are different from day to day, but some mainstay ones include Pistachio, Lychee Raspberry, and Strawberry Basil. We recommend getting your gelato in their freshly made Thyme Cone for $6.80 with a single scoop or $10.30 with a double scoop.
