Casa Vostra: Legit Italian Pizzas And Pasta Under $30 At This New Raffles City Restaurant

Casa Vostra opens in Raffles City

If you’re on the hunt for wallet-friendly Italian food around the City Hall area, here’s a new restaurant to add to the rotation: Casa Vostra. Founded by Italian chef Antonio Miscellaneo, the Casa Vostra flagship takes over the space formerly occupied by McDonald’s in Raffles City, and is slated to open tomorrow, 27 July.

Chef Miscellaneo is renowned for his pizzas, so you can expect excellent ‘zas here. The chef ranks on the list of the world’s best pizzas, so diners are in for a treat.

One of Casa Vostra’s bestsellers is the Newpolitan Pizza selection. These reinvent traditional Neopolitan pizza-making techniques, resulting in chewy, soft-crust pizzas topped with premium Italian ingredients and produce.

The Margherita ($16++) is a time-honoured favourite, starring a San Marzano DOP tomato sauce base, fior di latte cheese, and fresh basil. Carnivores will love the Salsiccia e Friarielli ($25++), where you get a white sauce pizza dressed with house-smoked provola and sausage, as well as broccoli rabe and parmigiano reggiano.

For those who prefer pizzas with a thinner, crispier crust, the Doublecrunch Pizzas are where it is at. The dough is proofed for 48 hours and baked at a lower temperature so that it ends up being—true to its name—doubly crunchy.

Note that the Doublecrunches are not open-faced pies, though, but more like a pizza sandwich. Expect topping combos such as the cheesy Caprese ($16++), fragrant Mortadella ($22++), and delightfully savoury Prosciutto e Parmigiano ($20++).

Aside from pizzas, look forward to a line-up of antipasti and pasta dishes. There are over a dozen options to pick from when it comes to the latter, including highlights such as the Crab, Tagliatelle ($26++), featuring a tomato confit sauce and lumps of jumbo crab meat, and the Cacio e Pepe, Spaghetti ($16++), which needs little introduction.

FYI: The menu is also priced under $30 across the board, with the cheapest main being just $13—we love quality restaurants that don’t break the bank!

Finally, Casa Vostra is running a launch day promotion on 31 July, from 3pm to 5pm to celebrate this new outlet! They are giving away free portions of their Frittatina, AKA Singapore’s only fried lasagna. Portions are limited, and while stocks last. All you have to do is follow Casa Vostra on their Instagram or Facebook pages to be able to redeem this treat.
