13 Cheap Buffets In Singapore Under $40++, Including Free-Flow Steak And Sashimi

Best cheap buffets in Singapore

We recently wrote about the best buffets in Singapore, but as someone who’s constantly on the lookout for good deals, I sought to find more wallet-friendly buffet options. Rather than breaking the bank on a single buffet, I have managed to collate 13 cheap buffets in Singapore that are priced under $40++ a person. There’s a mix of sweet and savoury options, as well as different cuisines, so there’s something for different tastes.

1. Captain Kim Korean BBQ & Hotpot

Lovers of K-BBQ should be familiar with Captain Kim Korean BBQ & Hotpot, as they’ve got a couple of outlets peppered around Singapore. Their buffet lunch and dinner, priced from $18.90++ per person, draws many to their restaurants. You’ll find a slew of meaty offerings, including beef bulgogi, honey chicken, ribeye beef, and black pepper chicken, all drenched in flavourful marinades.

The best part is they’re halal-certified, so your Muslim friends can also head down and eat to their heart’s content. Also, don’t forget to leave some room for their ready-to-eat Korean delights, such as tteokbokki, japchae, and yangnyeom chicken.

To fulfil your comfort food cravings during gloomy rainy days, head down to Orchard Grand Court’s Crystal Café and dig into their famed Taiwan Porridge Buffet, which starts from $20.90++ per person.

The spread is sumptuous; complement your bowls of sweet potato porridge with homely accompaniments such as braised duck and pork trotters, salted eggs and veggies, and ikan bilis with peanuts. Feel free to browse their a la carte menu for more dishes to supplement your meal, as they’ve also got western fare including Fish and Chips ($16++) and Beef Ribeye ($26.80++), if the porridge is not too filling.

You’ll want to pig out on their free-flow sashimi too; they’re known for dishing out generous, thick cuts of fresh salmon, tuna, swordfish, and even octopus. Surprisingly, the bill will come out to $39.80++ per person, which is definitely reasonable in our books.

Located in the CBD area, Annalakshmi is a popular Indian vegetarian restaurant. Their motto is to serve the community with nutritious food and to give generously. Hence, they encourage their diners to pay as they wish. However, as with all kindness, it’s best not to take advantage of it, and for diners to be considerate of the business too.

Serving up a wide range of vegetarian Northern Indian dishes, this restaurant lets you have your fill of vegetable curry with chapati and bhatoora, AKA deep-fried leavened bread. You will also get to try dishes such as red pumpkin sambar and bhindi masala here.

Do note that reservations are currently not available.

They have an extensive variety of 16 prata options, but skip the usual flavours and dive straight into unique flavours such as Masala Prata and Honey Prata. The Masala Prata is stuffed with a fragrant masala curry filling, which has an aromatic curry flavour without being overly spicy, while the Honey Prata takes the usual sugar prata up a notch.
