They’re known for having seven different flavours of grilled fish, with spicy and non-spicy options available. On top of that, TANYU offers chuan chuan, AKA Chinese-style barbecue skewers, to turn your meal into a full-on feast. Aburi-EN is one of our favourite spots for affordable Japanese donburi bowls with aburi-ed meat. Get the Mentaiko Buta Don ($14.90++), one of their most popular items, starring grilled pork loin that’s topped with mentaiko mayonnaise and torched to finish, served atop pearl grain rice from Hokkaido. Tajimaya Yakiniku is an excellent choice for yakiniku, especially for Wagyu lovers. Their extensive menu includes A5 Wagyu sourced from various established farmers in Japan. Aside from their extensive line-up of beef, the yakiniku restaurant also serves up fresh seafood, sushi, and other light Japanese bites.
