For me, bread is a breakfast staple. During my time in Ubud Bali, I came across this a popular bakery called Daily Baguette, which became my go-to breakfast spot every morning. Located conveniently on Ubud’s main street, next to a local market, the French-inspired bakery offers baguettes, croissants, delectable pastries, as well as sandwiches and salads for takeout or dine-in consumption.

Upon stepping into the bakery, you’re immediately greeted by the irresistible aroma of freshly baked bread and pastries. The cafe features two levels: a dedicated bakery section where orders can be placed, and a spacious outdoor terrace with a view of the Puri Lukisan Museum of Balinese Arts.

The bakes here are super affordable with some cakes going for as low as $0.90 per piece!

While we were there, we also noticed an unending stream of delivery riders coming into the bakery to pick up fresh orders. Apparently, Daily Baguette also offers next-day delivery straight to your doorstep when you order before 6pm.

During our visit, we ordered their Mini Pain Au Chocolat (IDR12K/~S$1.08) and Banana Cake (IDR10K/~S$0.90),  which boasted a moist texture and caramel-brown crust. If you’re not the biggest fan of bananas, you may prefer Daily Baguette’s version as its banana flavour is on the mild side.

We also tried the Creme Brulee (IDR25K/~S$2.26), which comprises a caramelised, eggy centre encased in a thin crust. It’s then dusted with sweet icing sugar.

The creme brulee filling was slightly sweet and had a touch of tang. It was also rich and creamy, which contrasted well with the pastry’s light and flaky texture.

Our favourite item was the alcohol-free Tiramisu Tart (IDR40K/~$3.61): bittersweet tiramisu mousse sitting atop a crumbly lady finger crust, infused with rich dark chocolate ganache. A mini version of this treat is also available for IDR20K (~S$1.80).

This addictive dessert offered a blend of creamy, coffee-infused goodness with each bite and an almost-perfect balance of chocolatey and bitter flavours.

If you’re here for lunch, Daily Baguette also has an extensive afternoon menu offering bagels, panini, salmon croissants, and smashed avocado. You can also customise your own hearty croissants or sandwiches from IDR45K (~S$4.06) and layer them with chicken, bacon, tuna, avocados, cream cheese and more.
