Great news for all beef lovers: Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu has opened at One Holland Village! This is its second outlet in Singapore, following the introduction of the Raffles City branch last year.
Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu Review: Japan-Famous Beef Cutlet Chain Opens In SG
For the uninitiated, Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu is by far the largest gyukatsu—meaning deep-fried beef cutlet—chain in Japan. Today, it has over 70 outlets worldwide.
If you’re willing to splurge, be sure to try the A5 Miyazaki Sirloin Gyukatsu Zen ($55++). Featuring the most premium Wagyu cut available at the restaurant, this cutlet is crispy on the outside and incredibly buttery and juicy on the inside.
For a more affordable option, get the Sirloin Gyukatsu Zen (from $25++). When we tried this cutlet, we found that it was a notch or two below the A5 Miyazaki Wagyu in terms of quality, which means it was still really good.
More adventurous eaters will love the Beef Tongue Gyukatsu Zen ($37++). We loved its addictive chewiness and incredible meaty flavour, which was elevated by sauces ranging from Kyoto-style curry to rich gyukatsu sauce. By the way, you can enjoy both the sirloin and beef tongue cuts with the Signature Half-and-Half Gyukatsu Zen (from $29++).
If you aren’t a fan of beef, you can consider the Seafood Katsu Zen ($32++) or Yasai Tempura Zen ($25++). Do note that every set you order comes with free-flow rice and cabbage!
