Gyukatsu—or deep-fried beef cutlets—are immensely popular in Japan, and first touched down in Singapore at Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu. Gyusei Gyukatsu promises quality halal-certified Wagyu katsu, elevating the experience with 10 different condiments and a variety of delectable sides.

Enjoy these top-tier meats in three different cuts: A5 Japanese Ribeye 120g ($69++), A5 Japanese Striploin 120g ($59++), and A5 Japanese Tenderloin ($79++). These buttery, lightly-breaded Wagyu slices are served on ornate handcrafted platters designed to showcase the 10 condiments that include the zesty Yusu Kosho, tingly Sansho Pepper, sweet-savoury Katsu Sauce, and spicy, complex Shichimi, amongst others.

One of the most satisfying things when it comes to gyukatsu is grilling your beef cutlet slices on the provided hot stone grill to your preferred doneness. This ensures that amazingly melt-in-your-mouth bite of fatty Wagyu!

As alternatives to the decadent Wagyu options, you’ll find the Premium Seafood Set ($39++), which includes salmon, unagi, ebi, and soft-shell crab, all done tempura-style. You can also get the Yasai Tempura Set ($29++) which features a medley of vegetable tempura, and the Portobello Mushroom Cutlet ($29++).

If these mains aren’t enough to fill your tummy, go for their array of sides, which includes their signature A5 Wagyu Tenders ($28++), with limited quantities served daily.
Other sides include the Menchikatsu ($12++) and the Housemade Japanese Beef Curry Stew ($14++), which both utilise A5 Wagyu trimmings, and the XL Hyogo Oysters ($29++ for 3 pieces) and Grandma’s Chicken Nanban ($18++).
