Huize van Wely to open at Raffles Singapore in October

Good news to all dessert fans: popular Dutch patisserie and chocolaterie Huize van Wely will reach our shores in October 2024 at Raffles Singapore! Around for over a century since 1922, the famous dessert shop’s new Singapore outpost will be located along Seah Street.

While we don’t know what to anticipate on the menu at this upcoming branch, one thing’s for sure: you can expect a variety of pastries, chocolates, and ice cream. Looking at their online menu, their stunning range of cakes includes Orange Choco (price TBD), Cheese Cake (price TBD), and a lesser-seen Cherry Pie (price TBD).

We also hear that the signature Champagnecake (price TBD) will be available in Singapore. This alcohol-infused cake comprises layers of white chocolate, champagne cream ganache, and an airy almond sponge encased in a dark chocolate shell.

If you prefer something more compact, get their tarts instead. Fruit tarts are especially popular here, with the likes of Strawberry Tart (price TBD) and Blueberry Tart (price TBD). But that’s not to say there aren’t other flavours—the Choco Dipped Choux (price TBD) is perfect for chocolate lovers; the choux pastry is packed with fresh cream, then dipped in dark chocolate. It’s also topped with a dollop of whipped cream as the finishing touch!

As we’re in the latter half of the year with the festivities right around the corner, you can consider getting gifts for your loved ones at Huize van Wely as they offer gift boxes. The Bouchee Gift Box (price TBD) is a great example: these are essentially creamy chocolate bonbons in an assortment of flavours such as Pistachio, Almond Brulee, and Hazelnut & Milk.

There’s still a bit of time left before their official opening so in the meantime, check out their Instagram page for further updates.
