IKEA Alexandra Has A New Bakery With $0.90 Croissants, Speculoos Doughnuts And More

IKEA Alexandra at Queenstown has a new bakery

A trip to IKEA is never complete without hitting the Swedish Bistro for snacks such as the wallet-friendly hotdog and $0.50 soy ice cream. What’s better is that they recently revamped the food section at IKEA Alexandra with a brand new addition: a bakery with a huge variety of bakes and pastries!

The bakery is found near the Swedish Food Market corner, and the selection of fresh bakes is extensive with the likes of croissants, muffins, doughnuts, baguettes, brownies and more. 

Prices here start as low as $0.90 for their Mini Butter Croissant—this is definitely a steal, considering how the same Viennoiserie easily costs more than $3 elsewhere. FYI, it’s named “mini” but the actual size is similar to that of a regular croissant.

They also have other versions of the croissants with fillings such as the Double Coloured Butter Croissant with Chocolate Filling ($1.90) and the Double Coloured Butter Croissant with Raspberry Filling ($1.90). 

Besides the different types of croissants, there are other viennoiseries to choose from: Chocolate Chips Twist ($2.20), Cheddar Cheese Twist ($2.20) and more!   

We enjoyed the twists more than the croissants as the former was extra crispy and flavourful, and they were almost comparable to pastries from high-end bakeries. 

Next, go for their doughnuts iced in a variety of eye-catching colours. The Donut Queen V ($2) is an elevated version of their OG iced chocolate doughnut, as this one has a sweet custard filling.

They also have mini powdered doughnuts that you can get in three flavours: The Very Berry Bite, The Speculoos Bite, and The Crazelnut Bite. These are priced at $0.90 each or six for $4.50. Our favourite was The Speculoos Bite; it was copiously packed with a sweet-creamy Speculoos filling. 

They also sell Chocolate Profiteroles ($7) AKA cream puffs which come in a box of 10. FYI, these puffs are the most expensive item of the lot at the bakery!

Overall, these bakes and pastries make for a satisfactory breakfast or after-shopping snack that won’t break the bank. If you’re in the area, drop by IKEA Alexandra and check out the newly revamped space.
