Enjoy delicious, halal fast food at A&W. Must-orders include their Coney Dog (from $5.40), Root Beer Float ($4) and Waffle Ice Cream ($8.80).
Besides the classics, this store will also be serving new items like the Cream Cheese Burger (from $8.10), which contains beef bacon strips and cream cheese. You’ll be glad to know that the joint closes at midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, so you can head there later to avoid the snaking queues.

Saap Saap Thai is arguably one of the more legit halal Thai chains in Singapore, thanks to their generous noodles that are packed with tender beef slices. That’s why we wholeheartedly welcome another outlet. Pore over their wide variety of Thai dishes, from boat noodles to tom yum soup. Prices are relatively affordable too, with most mains under $15.
You can also expect quintessential Thai desserts here like Mango Sticky Rice ($6.30) and Thai Milk Tea ($3.50).
What separates Earle Swensen’s from its more mainstream cousin is its salad bar buffet, available at a top-up of $6++ with a main ordered, or $20++ a la carte. If you love seafood, get The Fisherman ($19++): spaghetti in Marinara sauce, topped with grilled king prawns, and tossed with blue mussels and squid.
They also have hand-stretched pizzas in flavours such as Chicken Tikka ($17++) and Truffle Mushroom ($23++) that are great for sharing. Finish your meal with their line-up of giant sundaes, perfect as an indulgent treat with the fam!

If you’ve ever felt FOMO when your colleagues ordered from Collin’s during lunch, here’s your chance to try their food at El Fuego By Collin’s. The dishes here are a lil’ more high SES than the ones you see on GrabFood. That being said, they’re def’ affordable considering the selection you’re getting.
Indulge in the likes of sharing mains such as Charcoal-Grilled Australian Black Angus Beef Short Rib ($98++), slow-cooked for 12 hours, or go for the Chicken Casserole ($42++), featuring pan-roasted whole chicken with roasted potatoes and mushrooms.
Fun fact: This restaurant is also said to offer the first halal-friendly omakase in Singapore.

If you’re about to fly to Korea but can’t keep your cravings at bay, make a quick pit stop at Jinjja Chicken. Here, you can find so many cheap Korean dishes, you can’t help going “Jinjja (Really)?”
Faves include the Jinjja Wings (from $8.50 for six pieces) and the Rabboki ($9.20) AKA ramyeon with tteokbokki. For those travelling in a squad, get the Big Bang Set ($46.90). It gives you 16 pieces of fried chicken, kimbap, mandu, and fries.

Sukiya is a famous Japanese chain offering gyudon AKA beef rice bowls at wallet-friendly prices. The halal-certified brand is most known for their Gyudon, priced from just $4.90 a bowl, which comes in variations such as the Triple Cheese Gyudon (from $6.50) and Okra Gyudon (from $6.50). They also offer other protein options including chicken yakitori and unagi, if beef isn’t up your alley.

If you’re a fan of Vietnamese food, So Pho has all the food to throw you back to Hanoi, whether it’s spring rolls, noodles or banh mi. If the plethora of items has got you confused, try the Bun Cha with Premium Marbled Beef and Fried Spring Rolls ($17.50++), which has got a lil’ bit of everything.
It’s been a few years since Subway became halal and Muslims islandwide cannot be happier. The chain serves delish subs from just $5.60, including popular flavours like Cold Cut Trio and Meatball Marinara. Make it a full meal and top up $3.20 to get a drink and two cookies!
Rrooll is a takeaway bakery that specialises in both sweet and savoury rolls that are great as a snack when you’re exploring Jewel. Of course, there’s the OG Cinnamon Classic ($3.90), a delightfully spiced roll with cream cheese frosting, but there are also plenty of others worth the try. For something with a bit of a kick, there’s the Garlic Onion Cheese ($3.70) for a savoury flavour bomb. They also have a Hazelnut Rocher ($3.70) flavour that’s a riff on the popular chocolate snack!

Get your fill on homely dishes such as Pineapple Fried Rice with Seafood ($8.90+) or Pad Thai Noodle with Seafood ($9.90++), then round off your meal with a sweet dessert. Mamma Mia Trattoria E Caffé is a halal-certified Italian restaurant that’s highly rated on Google: they have a 4.7 star rating with over 3,500 reviews! Prices of the mains are all sub-$20, too, so you won’t break the bank here. Try their popular Truffle Mushroom Risotto ($15.50++), a vegetarian-friendly dish, or go for the Spaghetti with Brown-Butter Prawn & Pink Sauce ($18.50++) if you’re in the mood for something fancier.

Dapur Penyet is a casual Indonesian eatery with multiple outlets across the island, including one in Jewel. They’re most known for their Ayam Penyet ($10.50++), which comes with smashed fried chicken and your choice of belacan, belado, green, or mercon chilli sauce. Other options include Chicken Satay ($11++) served with lontong or steamed rice, and BBQ Pomfret Fish ($13.50++) with rice. There’s also Bakso Soup ($8++) AKA beef balls, paired with noodles!
ICYMI: Poulet has been halal-certified since 2020! The modern French-inspired bistro has set up shop at Jewel by the name of Poulet Bijou. Here, you can tuck into their Signature Roast Chicken with Mushroom Cream Sauce, priced from $17.90++. Other sauce options include Diane Sauce, which is a traditional brown sauce, and Black Pepper Sauce. If you’re not in the mood for chicken, check out their pasta dishes instead. There’s the Beef Oxtail Penne Paste ($18.90++), a hearty main comprising braised oxtail with a house-made tomato sauce.
