If you frequent the CBD for work, you may have walked past Kada, the newest kid on the Maxwell block. This three-storey dining enclave is housed in the old St Andrew’s Mission Hospital for Women and Children building, which opened back in 1923.

Fans of Kyuukei Coffee will be happy to know that the popular Japanese-inspired cafe has set up shop at Kada. On top of coffee, you can fill up on their signature sandwiches here, such as the Brisket Pesto ($22). They also have a small selection of pastries and cakes to choose from.

You can also get your caffeine fix at ECHO House, a new brand that’s opened on the first floor. The cafe serves light bites and coffee; a cup of Latte is priced from $5.50, though their matcha beverages are said to be popular too. Tuck into pastries ranging from the classic Almond Croissant ($6) to a unique Chilli Bacon Loaf ($6).

Then there’s also Pacto by Parchmen, a hole-in-the-wall cafe with a cute takeaway kiosk by the window—similar to Kopikhoo Coffee Shop in Katong.

If you prefer tea to coffee, be sure to check out Origin Teahouse, which offers both indoor and outdoor dining. The latter is pet-friendly, too!

Other dining options include Proud Potato Peeler, a hidden restaurant that’s accessible by reservation only, and D’penyetz Heritage, a new concept by the popular D’penyetz ayam penyet restaurant.

Kada is located right next to Maxwell Food Centre, a three-minute walk from Maxwell MRT Station.

We’ll update this article with more information once we visit Kada, so stay tuned!

For more food in the area, check out Taste Fusion Hainanese Chicken Chop, an under-the-radar Western stall nearby. Otherwise, head to Woobbee in Tanjong Pagar to try their pi pa gao bubble tea!

Address: 5 Kadayanallur Street, Singapore 069183
Opening hours: TBD
Kada’s eateries are not halal-certified.
