Recently, VivoCity’s Basement 2 got a major revamp, offering shoppers plenty of new eateries to check out. But Singapore’s largest shopping mall didn’t stop there: its B2 food court has also been reimagined as Kopitiam Food Hall, now home to over 30 stalls, many of them familiar favourites.
Whereas the former Kopitiam had interiors that were drab and uninspiring, the new space looks fresh and dynamic—expect bright murals, bold colours, and stylish furnishing throughout. There’s even a bar for you to booze it up after having your fill of the many eats at the food court.
Speaking of eats, be sure to try Hjh Maimunah Mini. This is a spin-off of the famous nasi padang restaurant along Jalan Pisang, which was a frequent fixture on the Michelin Bib Gourmand. Get the Nasi Sambal Goreng Set ($9), which comes with sambal goreng jawa, sambal cuttlefish, begedel and more.
Another Michelin-approved stall here is Ann Chin Popiah. Known for its fresh spring rolls made with a traditional recipe, the Signature Popiah here goes for $2.70 a piece. There’s also a Chicken Cutlet Popiah ($3.50) if you’d like a meatier alternative.
There’s also the ever-popular Eng Kee Chicken Wings here. This popular brand has been around since 1989, and is known for its Crispy Chicken Wings. There’s also the option of ordering economic bee hoon if you’d like a more complete meal.
Aside from these beloved Singaporean dishes, Kopitiam Food Hall also features a variety of stalls serving other cuisines. There are Thai dishes at Yuan Wei Thai Cuisine, Vietnamese noodles at Pho Vietnam, and Korean eats at Kim Dae Bak Korean. So if you’re feeling peckish after shopping at VivoCity, you may want to consider stopping by this new and improved Kopitiam Food Hall.
