Kreme Cafe takes over the former Chang Wang Cake Shop, which previously occupied the premises for over 30 years. This hipster-style cafe is spacious with plenty of seats, and is well-lit with natural light streaming through their glass frontage.

Customers speak of their Kaya Cake ($4.20) with much praise for its alternating layers of fluffy pandan chiffon cake and jiggly kaya custard. Another popular item here is Yam Cake ($4.20), which features layers of yam sponge cake and yam custard instead. If these don’t suit your taste buds, they have other cake flavours to choose from, ranging from Durian Cake ($5), Blueberry Cheesecake ($4.50), to Mango Mousse ($4.20).

If you’re looking for something less jelak but no less sedap, consider other old-school bites that smack of nostalgia, including Ring Donuts ($2.20), Egg Tart ($1.80), and Chocolate Balls ($1.50). Don’t forget to try some of their savoury treats too, such as Chicken Pie ($2.20) and Chicken Curry Puff ($2.20).

Prices start from $4.50 for a Single Scoop, $8.50 for a Double Scoop, and $12.50 for a Triple Scoop. For premium flavours, you’ll have to top up an additional $1 per scoop.
