Maguro O at Suntec City has sushi buffet for $35++ per person

From Moss Cross Tokyo’s affordable omakase to Itacho Sushi’s new takeaway kiosk with $0.50 sushi, Singaporean’s hunt for affordable sushi never seems to end. Adding to the list is Maguro O at Suntec City where for $35++ per person only, you get to enjoy an all-you-can-eat sushi buffet for an hour. This buffet includes a good selection of fish: Salmon, Maguro, Mekajiki AKA swordfish, Hamachi AKA yellowtail, and Tobiko nigiri sushi. FYI, the sushi buffet is only available on weekday dinners!

The fish slices in their nigiri sushi are said to be very thick and fresh, so you know you will not be fleeced. Other sushi options in the buffet include Salmon Mentaiko and Aburi Salmon, which are perfect for salmon lovers.

This unlimited sushi treat is priced at $35++ per person, but for another $3++, you can also get all the sushi rolls such as the California Roll, Unagi Roll and Furikake Roll.

But if you cannot make it to weekday dinner, fret not as the restaurant also serves other top-notch Japanese food! The Aburi Chutoro Don Set ($34.90++) is one of their best sellers, and it comes with pickles, miso soup, chawanmushi, and a dessert.

If raw fish is not your thing, the restaurant also offers Anago Nigiri ($9.90++ per piece), which is not something you can find in every Japanese restaurant. This may seem like your regular unagi sushi, but in fact, the restaurant uses anago AKA saltwater eel from the Northwest Pacific Ocean. Plus, it’s said that anago has a completely different flavour from the freshwater eels we are so used to eating!
