Mala Matcha With Coriander? Try It At This Chinatown Cafe For A Limited Time

Matcha Pals has mala matcha for a limited time

If you don’t easily get spooked by ghosts or haunted houses, then Matcha Pals’ mala matcha is sure to do the trick! Located within Freaky Cones in Chinatown, the popular matcha cafe has launched a new menu, featuring two unique Halloween-themed drinks, available for a limited time only.

Matcha Pals’ new Halloween series includes the Mala Charcoal Matcha ($8.50+) and Banana Biscoff Cinnamon Matcha ($8.50+), both available till 31 October 2025.

While the Mala Charcoal Matcha sounded daunting, the drink turned out to be more of a treat than a trick.

The unique beverage blends matcha with fresh milk, activated charcoal powder, mala powder, and mala syrup topped with fresh coriander.

Surprisingly, it wasn’t overwhelming, and we enjoyed the gentle tingle of heat, much like the comforting warmth of a pumpkin spice latte.

FYI, for $1 more, you can get the drink with oat milk.

If you’re not the adventurous type, try the Banana Biscoff Cinnamon Matcha instead.

We loved the refreshing blend of creamy matcha and banana, complemented by a touch of earthy sweetness from the cinnamon and crushed Biscoff.

As part of the Halloween special, they’ve also got cute Sticker Packs ($5+ for a pack of three) to pair with their drinks!

While you’re here, don’t miss out on their other popular drinks, including the Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte ($8.50+), pairing smooth and creamy matcha latte with house-made strawberry compote.

There’s also the signature Iced Osmanthus Jelly Matcha ($8+), which skips the milk for a stronger, earthy matcha flavour. We appreciated the generous serving of osmanthus jelly, balancing out the drink with a floral sweetness.

Matcha Pals is located within Freaky Cones, a quick five-minute walk from Chinatown MRT Station and Telok Ayer MRT Station. Their Halloween drinks are only available till 31 October, so head down now before it’s too late!
