If you’ve ever queued at MODU Korean restaurant, you’ll know the hype around its comforting bowls of samgyetang. Now, the brand is taking things up a notch with MODU High, a new concept that has just opened along Amoy Street in the CBD.
The new Korean ginseng soup restaurant officially opened on 31 March 2026, offering a larger space and a more extensive menu compared to its OG Mandarin Gallery location.

Diners can look forward to 12 different samgyetang flavours—double the number offered at the original MODU.
For those unfamiliar, samgyetang is a traditional Korean ginseng chicken soup that’s both nourishing and warming. At MODU High, the dish is made with premium ingredients, including halal-certified organic spring chicken, ginseng, jujube, garlic, and glutinous rice. The broth is simmered for up to 12 hours at a low temperature to bring out a rich, deep flavour.

The menu is split across several categories, including premium, speciality, and classic samgyetang. Some notable options include the Yang Vitality($52++), which is positioned as an energy-boosting option, and the newly launched Chicken & Premium Seafood ($74++), studded with Korean abalone and octopus.
Other new additions include the Wild Mushroom ($48++) and Truffle ($48++), prepared with black truffles for a luxurious, umami-packed aroma.

Those who want something punchier can order the Spicy Herbal ($38++) samgyetang. We tried and loved this flavour at the original MODU, where it’s known as the Hangover soup. This rendition was zesty, spicy, and flavourful altogether, with strong notes of minced garlic.

MODU High’s interiors are inspired by a modern Hanok, a traditional Korean house, featuring warm wood tones and a calm, minimalist design. Situated in the CBD, the restaurant is perfect for both quick lunches and after-work dinners.
