New food places at Tampines 1 and Century Square

East-siders, you want to get excited for this: Tampines 1 and Century Square are now both home to all-new food and beverage outlets that have just made their respective dining directories that much better.

While Tampines 1 already has a lengthy list of dining options spanning a wide range of cuisines, you won’t want to miss out on their newcomers.

There’s Tun Xiang Hokkien Delights (#03-K1), a restaurant dedicated to elevated Hokkien hawker fare and zi char dishes.

Tun Xiang Hokkien Delights

If you love Hokkien Mee ($8.90), give their take a try. Cooked on a well-seasoned wok, the dish is smoky and oh-so-slurpable, thanks to the fact that the noodles are cooked in an umami prawn stock. Instead of regular cuts of pork belly, you get Iberico Black Pork pieces, so that $8.90 price tag is definitely worth it.

Speaking of pork, diners who enjoy offal should order their White Pepper Collagen Pig Stomach Soup ($15), a hearty, herbal, and peppery broth that pairs excellently with a bowl of white rice.

Other dishes you can opt for on the menu include their Oyster Omelette ($12) and their Deep Fry Iberico Pork with Tau Pok ($10) to share.

cafe bom bom tampines 1

Those hunting for a new dessert spot in the mall should zoom to Cafe Bom Bom (#04-14). The Korean cafe is making bingsu trendy again with their line-up of interesting flavours.

There’s the K-Ogok Bingsu ($7.60) for a classic, injeolmi treat, or the Melon Bingsu ($8.60) if you’re looking for a refreshing pick-me-up.

sea salt coffee

Don’t skip on ordering some of their unique Korean-style coffee beverages. There’s the Sea Salt Blanc ($7.50), a minty, sea salt-laced iced coffee that tends to sell out quickly.

Cafe Bom Bom also offers Korean-style fat macarons, AKA Bomcarons. Priced at $4.90 each, these thicc, Instagrammable sweet treats are available in Oreo, cheese, strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla flavours.

Those with student cards, make sure you flash them as you get 10% off your bill!

tree cafe tampines

Century Square also has fresh dining options aplenty. Plus, it’s just a short walk away from Tampines 1!

If you’re lost for choice, swing by The Tree Cafe (#03-34) for affordable Western fusion eats priced mostly under $15 nett.

Try their take on Southern-style chicken and waffles, priced at $11.50. Each serving comes with fried chicken, waffles that are crispy on the outside, and maple syrup so you can enjoy that sweet-salty combo.

Another wallet-friendly, but no less indulgent option is their Mac & Cheese ($10.90), where macaroni is cooked with a gooey mozzarella cheese sauce, chicken pieces, and mushrooms.

duck confit

They also have Sous Vide Duck Confit for only $16.90! A bone-in duck leg with seared, well-rendered skin is served alongside creamy mashed potatoes with a well of gravy, and fresh greens.

roll gaadi kaathi rolls

Those looking for affordable Indian fare can swing by Roll Gaadi (#B1-28). They’re known as Singapore’s first kathi kebab roll specialists. Naturally, they specialise in kathi rolls, a Kolkatan street food snack that sees kebab meats wrapped in roti prata.

butter chicken wrap

Try it out for yourself by ordering their famous Butter Chicken Roll ($8.90). The chicken was tender and spiced just right, and the roll was dressed up with pickled onions, cabbage, and shredded carrot for a dose of freshness.

We were huge fans of the accompanying coriander mint sauce, which is made fresh daily in-house.

If you prefer to enjoy your curries with rice, then try their Butter Chicken Rice Bowl ($8.90) or Paneer Tikka Rice Bowl ($8.90). The former comprises their signature butter chicken served over rice, while the latter is vegetarian-friendly, and stars moreish cubes of grilled paneer.

Those feeling thirsty can opt to finish off their meal with lassi, available in flavours such as Strawberry Mint ($6.90) and Mango Lime ($5.90).
