Nutella launches new Peanut Spread with Cocoa
Nutella fans who can never decide between chocolate hazelnut spread and peanut butter now have another option. Nutella Peanut Spread with Cocoa ($11.95) combines the brand’s familiar chocolate-hazelnut base with peanut for a richer, nuttier take on the original.
We gave the new spread a try, and the difference was pretty noticeable from the first bite. It is less sweet than regular Nutella, with a nuttier flavour that makes the spread taste more balanced overall.
The peanut butter flavour comes through clearly, but doesn’t completely dominate. Instead, you still get the familiar Nutella taste, just with a deeper, more interesting profile thanks to the combination of chocolate, hazelnut, and peanut.

If you find regular Nutella a little too sweet, this version may be more up your alley. We actually preferred it over the original, and most people who tried both at our table felt the same way.
It also works if you simply enjoy both peanut butter and Nutella but have never been able to pick a side. The new spread brings the two together without either flavour becoming too overpowering.
Our main gripe is the price. A 371g jar costs $11.95, which is considerably more than the regular 350g Nutella jar at $7.80. That works out to about $3.22 per 100g for the peanut spread, compared to $2.23 per 100g for the original.
Still, if you’re looking for a less sweet and more nutty alternative to regular Nutella, this could be a worthy upgrade. We can already see it becoming a new favourite among fans who want something a little more interesting, without straying too far from the original.
