Renowned as one of the most popular craft beer hotspots in Bukit Timah, Orh Gao Taproom is now back with not just a new home, but also a brand new dual dining concept. Located at Serene Centre, early birds can now enjoy more than the usual well-loved rotation of craft beers and bar bites. By day, the space transforms into Peh Gao Coffeeshop, serving a selection of classic breakfast and lunch dishes that are both simple and comforting.

From 8am to 3pm, a modern, laid-back dining space will welcome diners, with menu highlights like the signature Kaya Butter Toast ($2.80++) taking centre stage. The kaya is made entirely in-house, gently steamed to achieve a custard-like texture before it’s spread over crisp, golden toast. For those looking for something different, the menu also features other toast variations and a selection of open-faced sandwiches.

From 10am to 2pm, the menu shifts to heartier dishes. A standout is the Pho Original ($13++), featuring a light yet savoury clear beef broth, generous slices of grass-fed Australian beef chuck, and the usual fresh herbs and bean sprouts. For something more indulgent, the Pho Ultimate ($19++) puts a whole tender braised beef rib at the centre of the bowl.

For a unique fusion of two favourites, check out their Mapo Tofu Udon ($12++), bringing together mapo tofu, onsen eggs, and fried beancurd into a rich, flavourful combination.

If you are not feeling noodles, their rice-based dishes provide a satisfying alternative. Regulars will be familiar with their Nasi Lemak Har Cheong Gai ($12++) and the unmistakable flavours of its prawn paste chicken. The Nasi Lemak Rempah Chicken ($12++) stars boneless chicken thigh soaked in their housemade rempah paste, while the Nasi Lemak Beef Rendang ($15++) serves melt-in-your-mouth slow-cooked beef in gravy.

To add extra depth to your meal, choose from their selection of side dishes, including Nonya Chap Chye ($4++), Baby Chye Sim ($5++), and Fried Spring Rolls ($5++).

A meal at Peh Gao isn’t complete without sampling their kopi or teh, including coffee roasted locally using premium Indonesian Robusta beans. During the day, guests can also choose from the full selection of craft beers.

Those drinks will take centre stage when the coffee shop winds down and Orh Gao comes alive after 4pm, with a weekly rotating lineup of 14 beers ($14 per pint) on tap featuring crisp lagers, IPAs, sours, stouts, and seasonal releases from local and international brewers.

Besides that, enjoy small plates as the perfect accompaniment to your drinks, including the new Crunchy Chicken Cartilage ($12++), Har Cheong Gai ($15++), and Gao Vinegar Fries ($13++). For those here on an empty stomach, you can still order mains such as Curry Mussels ($21++) and Crab Fried Rice ($19++).

Now operating with extended hours and featuring a refreshed space, including a sheltered, fully pet-friendly outdoor area, Orh Gao’s new dual concept aims to attract not just beer enthusiasts, but also casual diners looking to relax and unwind with friends and loved ones.
