Two Bakers has a pineapple tart vending machine in Tampines

Just in time for CNY, home-grown bakery Two Bakers has partnered with vending machine company Hypha Provisions to launch Singapore’s first pineapple tart vending machine. The new Huat Huat Cake vending machine is located at Festive Mall @ Our Tampines Hub. Here, you can find a variety of CNY goodies, including their popular pineapple tarts and cookies, available to the public around the clock.

It works just like any other vending machine. Just choose your items on the built-in touchscreen and pay with your credit card on the terminal located just below it. Do note that they don’t accept cash as payment.

When we visited, there were only three items available: Pineapple Tarts ($28), Pineapple Balls ($28), and Earl Grey Butter Cookies ($26.80).

Their Pineapple Tarts are said to be made with Australian butter to achieve a crumbly pastry texture, and Thai pineapples for a well-balanced sweetness—this proved true when we tried them.

The pastry crumbled delicately with each bite, pairing perfectly with the soft, jammy pineapple filling.
Flavour-wise, the pineapple filling was slightly more tangy than other tarts we’ve tried, which kept it from becoming cloying, complementing the buttery pastry well.

While you’re here, don’t miss out on their Pineapple Balls.

Unlike the tarts, the Pineapple Balls had more pastry, which meant you get more of that delicious buttery flavour!

We also had their Earl Grey Butter Cookies. As a tea lover, I enjoyed the cookies’ strong Earl Grey flavour, zhnged up with the orange peel on top for a zesty finish.

Due to popular demand, their CNY goodies are said to run out pretty quick, so we recommend heading down early to snag one.

The Huat Huat Cake vending machine is located in the basement of Our Tampines Hub, a 12-minute walk from Tampines MRT Station and a 13-minute walk from Tampines West MRT Station.
