New Tiger-Themed Cafe Opens in Jalan Besar With Kaya Toast Latte And More

19th October 2026

Rawr Cafe is a new tiger-themed cafe in Jalan Besar

Wunderfolks, the mastermind behind Oh Wunder Cafe and Cafe Barco, is back with another concept. Its latest venture, Rawr Cafe, opened in Jalan Besar on 17 October 2027. Unlike the other two concepts, this new cafe offers locally inspired brunch fare in a cute tiger-themed setup.

Rawr-ambience

The cafe interior features adorable red-and-white tiger graphics.

You’ll also find a display of merchandise, from their house-made kaya to a tiger-inspired cap and stickers.

The menu features local flavours in the form of Western brunch classics. Some must-tries recommended by the cafe are the Singaporean Breakfast Latte ($8++), Nasi Lemak Chicken Burger ($18++), Laksa Cream Halibut ($24++), Gula Melaka Pandan Cloud ($8++), Tiger Bomb ($12++), and Soft Shell Crab Chilli Pasta ($23++).

Rawr-chilli crab

The Soft Shell Crab Chilli Pasta was served with a whole crab. The tomato-based sauce was sweet, tangy, and mildly spicy. Personally, it tasted more like regular red pasta sauce than chilli crab.

The soft-shell crab appeared to be lightly battered and deep-fried, giving it a crispy exterior. Beneath the shell was tender, fleshy crab meat with some creamy roe. The crab had some natural sweetness and brininess that came through nicely.

Rawr-nasi lemak burger interaction

The Nasi Lemak Chicken Burger was extremely hearty, layered with fried chicken, fresh lettuce, and cucumber, then topped with ikan bilis and sambal for that bold umami flavour.

For sides, we got the Prawn Paste Chicken ($15++).  It tasted like regular har cheong gai—the exterior was fried till crisp, coating the greasy, tender chicken wing. I noticed that the chicken meat was a little pinker than what I was used to, so I thought it could’ve been cooked for longer.

Rawr-Drinks

We also got two of the signature drinks: the SG Breakfast Latte, a creamy pandan latte, and Tiger Bomb, espresso topped with orange foam.

You can also choose to top your drinks with an adorable Raw Tiger Cookie Topper for just $2++!

Rawr-breakfast latte interaction

The SG Breakfast Latte caught our eye with its e foamy “fried egg” on top. It’s served with a crunchy slab of kaya toast, which was light, fragrant, and perfect for soaking up the latte. FYI: the “yolk” in the foam is kaya-flavoured!

Rawr- Tiger bomb

The Tiger Bomb had an intense citrusy flavour, thanks to the addition of the orange-infused foam. Paired with espresso, it made for a unique flavour combination that’s worth trying.

Overall, Rawr Cafe is definitely worth a visit if you love cutesy cafes. The SG Breakfast Latte is my favourite in terms of taste and appearance, so give it a go!
