Sauté Sushi: Singapore’s First Plant-Based Sushi Train Concept At Paya Lebar Square

Sauté Group has recently introduced us to Sauté Sushi, the first 100% plant-based sushi train concept in Singapore. Located at Paya Lebar Square, the storefront greets you with a giant figure of a train and an interior adorned with sakura flower decorations.

Sauté Sushi runs on a similar concept to Genki Sushi, in which orders are made through scanning a QR code, thus minimising in-person contact. After the order has been sent, the food will then be delivered via a little train along a sushi conveyor belt modelled after train tracks.

Sauté Sushi follows the Saute Group’s concept of selling exclusively plant-based foods. Their main sushi menu includes Abi Avocado ($12.90++), King Oyster Mushroom ($3.20), Sweet Pea ($1.90) and more.

Vegetarians or vegans can also get a taste of traditional Japanese-style sushi with their plant-based meat options such as Zalmon ($2.30), Teriyaki KO ($2.50), and Vnagi ($2.90)

If you are looking for a hearty bowl of umami, check out their noodles menu, which includes Saute Tomato Stew Ramen ($10.90++). It comes with mushrooms, tofu, and vegetables inside a red tomato stew. They also have rice bowls such as Teriyaki Abi Fry ($10.90++), featuring a plant-based fried “ebi” atop a bowl of fluffy Japanese rice.

Sauté Group also has other concepts such as Flavours By Sauté and Sauté San, in which the former is a fusion of local and international cuisine, and the latter is a halal-certified restaurant selling Japanese, Korean, and Western fusion food. All three restaurants under the group adopt vegetarian-friendly menus.

For more food around the area, check out our Paya Lebar Square and PLQ food guide, for cheap yakiniku, truffle hor fun and more. Otherwise, check out our vegetarian food places guide, for meatless chicken rice, army stew and more.
