Sulwhasoo Pops Up In Tanjong Pagar With Korean-French Fusion Cafe For A Limited Time

Sulwhasoo has a pop-up cafe at Sofitel Singapore City Centre

If you’re big on Korean skincare, you’ve definitely heard of Sulwhasoo, a brand that has Blackpink’s Rosé and Girl Generation’s Yoona sprawled across the ads you see in Orchard. The brand will be holding a limited-time Sulwhasoo Cafe pop-up at Sofitel Singapore City Centre, from 17 May to 13 July 2025.

Sulwhasoo’s products are focused on anti-aging, with many of them incorporating the use of medicinal herbs. Following suit, the pop-up also incorporates similar ingredients such as ginseng, collagen, and jujube.

For starters, there’s the Tuna Hwe ($28++), which is essentially diced up cured tuna. Each cube is well-coated in a spicy calamansi dressing, which gives it a nice fiery tang. Taken together, the tuna, creamy egg yolk, and crispy rice crackers make for the perfect bite.

Next, there’s the Black Sesame and Ginseng Samgyetang Pao Fan ($26++). Ginseng root, which is also Sulwhasoo’s prime ingredient, lends the broth its signature herbal flavour.

The broth does lean on the thicker side, though, which I found to be quite strange as samgyetang is usually thin and light.

The last appetiser of the lot is the Creamy Kimchi with Tteok ($24++). This features fried rice cakes, paired with a gochujang-laden zucchini stew, and topped with a sunny side-up. We appreciated how the crispy, fried version offered an interesting switch-up from the usual soft, steamed tteokbokki.

Onto the main spread, first up is the Doenjang Chicken with Yeonnipbap ($34++). This stars Doenjang AKA soybean-marinated grilled chicken. This was paired alongside mixed grains rice,  joined by nutritious gems such as gingko nuts, adzuki beans, jujube, and pumpkin seeds.

If you love your cold noodles, get the Naengmyeon ($30++). Buckwheat noodles are soaked in a cold broth laced with black goji berries, Nashi pear, and purple cabbage.

This was probably the prettiest bowl of naengmyeon I have laid my eyes on, as the broth was painted a vibrant purple hue!

But if that doesn’t strike your fancy, the Blackened Salmon with Clam Doenjang ($38++) sure might. This plate stars a smoked piece of salmon, paired with a medley of clams, capers, and daikon. Perfectly flaky, tender, and smoky, this salmon was one of my favourite dishes of the spread!

Though the offerings have been relatively health-forward so far, they could not just leave out dessert. There are two options to go for: Insam and Cointreau Gateaux ($22++) and Peach Collagen Consomme ($19++).

The former features a dark chocolate mousse-log accompanied by an orange gel and ginseng dust. The latter, meanwhile, is a cold jelly dessert consisting of poached peach, peach gum, jujube, white fungus, and chewy rice balls.

Round off your meal with your beverage of choice: the Dalgona Coffee ($9++) or the Ssukcha Mango Fizz ($9++). The iced dalgona coffee needs no introduction, milk topped with a sweet whipped coffee foam, while the latter is composed of mugwort tea, mango, and tonic water.

The Sulwhasoo Cafe pop-up will run from 17 May to 13 July 2025, from 11am to 6pm daily. With a minimum spend of $40, you get to receive a three-piece Sulwhasoo Daily Routine Kit worth $60, and with a minimum spend of $65++, you get to receive a four-piece Sulwhasoo Anti-Aging Kit worth $110.
