Sushi Cravings Has Sashimi Yusheng And Sushi Platters For Home Delivery This CNY

Sushi delivery for CNY

Call my family weird, but we’ve long had a tradition of ordering sushi as a side dish for most of our festive gatherings, especially Chinese New Year. A sushi platter rarely goes unappreciated at our reunion dinner table, especially since it makes a fitting sequel to sashimi-topped yusheng. If your family is like mine, or you just want to spice up your CNY meal with Japanese bites, then check out Sushi Cravings.

Sushi Cravings is an online sushi service, with store pick-up and delivery options available. Their menu is extensive, with sharing platters for small group gatherings, street food, don bowls, sashimi, maki rolls, and more to choose from. This CNY, they also have festive specials to look out for.

yusheng delivery

First is their classic, highly affordable Prosperity Salmon Yusheng ($38.80), which feeds three to four people.

You get to upsize the yusheng to a large portion for an additional $27, which feeds six to eight. On top of the upsize, I also like the fact that they have sashimi add-ons, so I can mix up the type of sashimi instead of sticking to just salmon.

Each top-up includes 16 slices of either swordfish ($12.80), tuna ($12.80), or scallop ($15.80). If you simply want to double down on salmon sashimi, then get an additional portion for $9.80.

Next on the festive menu is a selection of tangerine sushi. Though it may sound odd to some, but the zesty, sweet mandarin oranges go very well with savoury sushi.

tangerine beef sushi

A personal favourite is their Thriving Tangerine Mayo Beef Rose ($13.80 for three pieces), where smoky beef slices wrap round sushi rice, topped with mayo, fish roe, and a small segment of tangerine. I’m a big fan of beef sushi overall, so this really hits the spot.

The creamy mayonnaise is made slightly sweeter with the tangerine, though the orange never overpowers the bite.

tangerine prawn sushi

Fans of prawn mango maki rolls can try their Fortune Tangerine Mayo Prawn Maki Roll ($14.80 for eight pieces) instead. The sushi roll’s middle combines crunchy cucumber with juicy tangerine, and is topped with a sliver of prawn, and ikura.

More delicate than the beef, this maki roll is big on citrus, underscored by the sweetness of prawns.

If you really enjoy fruit-forward sushi, then try the Smiley Tangerine Prawn Gunkan ($4.80 for two pieces), where a diced prawn and Japanese cucumber salad tops warship-shaped sushi, dressed with ikura and a full tangerine segment.

To complete the feast, also get yourself one of their sharing platters. These crowd-pleasers start from $38.80 for the Salmon Lover Platter, which feeds three to six people with a variety of different salmon items, including sashimi, salmon mentai ikura sushi, hana maki, and maki rolls.

The salmon hana maki is topped with different types of fish roe for added umami, while the salmon mentai sushi is topped with ikura and mentaiko for extra salt and creaminess.
