Mister Donut and more new eateries to open at Tampines 1

East-siders, get ready for an influx of great new eats this June as Tampines 1’s basement is ending its renovations. For you, that means a slew of all-new eateries, including rrooll and the famous Mister Donut!

Japanese mochi doughnut fans now have another location to get their sweet tooth cravings sorted. Following recent openings in other neighbourhoods, Mister Donut has set their sights on the East, with their brand-new Tampines 1 branch.

For those who’ve yet to try Mister Donut, the Japanese brand is renowned for their Pon De Ring ($2.30) doughnut, made with tapioca flour instead of wheat flour, so it has a bouncy, mochi-like consistency.

We also love the Pon De Ring Strawberry ($2.50) flavour, glazed with a nostalgic strawberry cream coating that reminds us of Pocky.

For something a little different, there’s the Chocolate Fashion ($2.50), a cookie-like doughnut coated with chocolate on one end.

Cinnamon bun lovers can also enjoy homegrown bakery rrooll making their mark in Tampines. The halal-certified brand made a name for themselves off their innovative takes on cinnamon buns, featuring both sweet and savoury flavours.

Get a taste of their rolls with a box of Assorted Mini Rolls, well-priced at $6.80 for four pieces. Otherwise, go all out with a box of four regular-sized rolls at $13.80.

The Classic Cinnamon ($3.90) is a crowd favourite; here you get a soft cinnamon roll topped with an indulgent cream cheese icing. Else, for something more unique, try the Biscoff Coffee ($3.70), which pairs coffee-spiked cinnamon layers with a rich cookie butter topping.

If you’re in the mood for more sweet treats, venture to fieldnotes for their signature cakes and tarts, available in innovative flavours. BTW, this Tampines 1 opening marks the homegrown bakery’s first outlet in the East!

Their best-selling Honey Yuzu Slice ($9.27) and Mango Yuzu Slice ($9.27) are great for teatime, but if you’re a fan of tarts, you can go for the Strawberry Yuzu Tart ($9.70) instead: a buttery tart base with vanilla chiffon, strawberry cream, and yuzu curd, crowned with fresh strawberries.

For something savoury, San.wich is known for their sandwich assortment. Popular options include the Fish Fillet w Cheese Sourdough Bagel ($3.20) and Grilled Chicken w Scrambled Egg ($3.20).

There’s also the IG-worthy, Japanese-style Assorted Fruits Sandwich ($3.20), starring a thick layer of rich cream and fresh fruit chunks in the middle.

Another new addition to Tampines 1 is Wanpo Tea Shop, a popular bubble tea shop that originated from Taiwan. This opening also marks the brand’s first outlet in the East!

Go straight for their Mochi Soy Creme Tea Latte ($6.60), which comes with a stick of chewy dango that pairs well with the creamy beverage.

Alternatively, the Custard Boba Milk Tea ($5.90), complete with smooth custard cream and bouncy pearls, is another delicious pick-me-up.

If you prefer something non-caffeinated, we recommend the Mango Pomelo Sago ($6.80), a riff on the classic Hong Kong dessert, served in a cup instead. This dessert-like concoction is made using fresh fruits, so you get a naturally sweet and refreshing beverage.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to new eateries at Tampines 1. Head down to the mall for the full scoop!
