This month is stacked with Ramadan bazaars, from the famous Geylang Serai bazaar to smaller-scale neighbourhood fairs such as Bazaar Raya Utara Sembawang. If you live in the East, you’ll be happy to know that there’s a huge Ramadan food bazaar located right outside Tampines MRT Station!

The Tampines MRT Hari Raya Fair 2024 is ongoing till 7 April 2024. If you’re coming via train, it’s right outside the open field next to the green line exit!

This isn’t your regular pasar malam; instead, you’ll find stalls that aren’t always seen at other bazaars.

There’s Here Thai Food for instance, which sells legit Thai snacks such as grilled sausages and pancakes.

Their Pandan Pancakes ($5.50) come in a box of 12 green and purple pancakes.

These bite-sized treats are light and fluffy, with a soft and mochi-like middle that resembles kueh.

You can also get a small variety of Thai-style sausages similar to the ones you’ll find on the streets of Thailand. The Issan Vermicelli Sausage ($2) features a trio of freshly grilled mini sausages packed with chewy rice noodles.

Those who want something less sinful but equally delicious can head to 90 鼎 for some Taiwan Xi Men Mushroom Snacks ($6).

This stall specialises in Taiwanese-style grilled oyster mushrooms in flavours such as Garlic Spicy, Seaweed, and Lemon Pepper.

You get 150g of juicy, grilled-to-order oyster mushroom chunks tossed in your choice of seasoning!

There’s a great assortment of sweet snacks, too. Yu Dui Ren sells Creamy Cheese Dipping Sauce Mochi ($10) in four flavours: Peanut, Chocolate, Purple Sweet Potato, and Matcha.

Each box comes with super-soft mochi balls coated in flavoured powder, served alongside a creamy sauce for dipping, and Biscoff crumbs for crunch.

We found the Purple Sweet Potato mochi light bouncy, with a mild hint of sweet potato flavour. This tasted better on its own as the cheese dip was rather chunky.

ChubTuTu-unique-flavours (4)

Tutu kueh fans will be happy to know that ChubTutu, which made an appearance in last year’s Tampines MRT pasar malam, is back as well. They have Traditional ($3.50 for five) flavours such as Coconut and Kaya, alongside unique tutu kueh from the Premium ($5 for five) range: think D24 Durian and Chilli Crab.

Bazaar Raya Utara Sembawang Lemongrass Coriander Tea

When you’ve filled up, cool down from the heat with Bung! Lemon Tea‘s Bittergourd Lemon Tea ($3.50) or Lemon Green Tea ($3.50).

Another must-visit Ramadan fair is the popular Kampong Gelam Bazaar, which runs til 5 April 2024! In other food news, famous Penang pastry shop Ghee Hiang is coming to Singapore from 24 March, so if you’re a fan of their tau sar piah, save this date in your calendar.
