Tofu Tofu is a home-based cafe with matcha latte in Bedok
Bedok residents, you’ll want in on this: Tofu Tofu is a home cafe that sprouted up after the owner noticed the lack of matcha latte cafes around the neighbourhood. As a result, she started a cafe at her place selling unique matcha drinks that you probably have never seen it elsewhere.

The menu isn’t the most extensive, with only five drinks to choose from. But this is paradise for those who can’t get enough matcha and hojicha!
Matcha girlies, go straight for the OG Matcha Latte ($4.90), which uses powder from popular matcha brand Niko Neko. Those who love strawberry matcha can go for the Strawberry Matcha Latte ($5.90) instead.

Feeling adventurous, we tried the Kaya Matcha Latte ($5.90), which sees a generous layer of Nyonya kaya spread at the bottom, topped with a refreshing iced matcha latte. Nyonya kaya carries a stronger pandan aroma than Hainanese kaya. We found our drink well-balanced with just the right amount of sweetness and a distinct coconutty taste.
Pro tip: don’t stir the kaya completely—the undissolved clumps add a delightful textural contrast to the drink.Â
For a hot day out, opt for the Yuzu Usucha ($5.90), which sees rich, umami matcha poured over Sprite and chewy yuzu bits.Â
Each sip starts with a bold burst of citrusy yuzu, followed by a slightly grassy matcha aftertaste.
If matcha isn’t your thing, go for the Salted Caramel Hojicha ($5.90) instead. The caramel sauce added a rich depth of sweetness to the earthy, bitter hojicha, and we loved the sweet-nutty pairing of the two flavours.
The cafe isn’t the most conveniently located, as it’s a 15-minute walk from Bedok Reservoir MRT Station. But if you ever find yourself around the area, consider dropping by for something unique and affordable!
There aren’t any dine-in seats at the home cafe, so we recommend bringing a cooler bag if you’d like to take away your drinks.
Orders may be made via their pre-order form, and the cafe’s unit number will only be revealed once your booking is confirmed. Do check for the cafe’s opening timing on their IG page.
