If you’ve been to Japan recently, you’ve probably spotted these bright yellow signboards just about everywhere. That’s Torikizoku, a popular yakitori chain with more than 600 outlets across the country. And even if you’re not familiar with this iconic storefront, best get used to it now because Torizoku is set to open its first-ever Singapore outlet at VivoCity mall.
While no opening date has been announced yet, an article by The Nikkei stated that Eternal Hospitality Group from Japan will franchise the brand through Gohan Concepts, a joint venture between Fairprice Group and BHAG Pte. Ltd. So, one can reasonably expect an opening in Singapore sometime in the future.
Torikizoku outlets in Japan ensure that all skewers are priced at ¥390, around S$3.12. That affordability, along with the juicy skewers and wide range of drinks, makes the chain such a popular spot among salarymen and tourists alike.
Popular skewer options include the Grilled Thigh & Leek Sauce and Grilled Breast with Spicy Cod Roe.
For something more adventurous, the eatery also offers yakitori that uses chicken heart, skin, and liver. Don’t forget to pair these skewers with some drinks, including Mega Kinmugi Beer, KAKU Highball, Kishu Nanko Plum Liqueur and more!
Again, we’re not sure when Torikizoku will open in Singapore, but we’ll keep a lookout for you. This article will be updated as soon as we find out more!
