Unique mooncakes from VivoCity for Mid-Autumn Festival 2021
With the Mid-Autumn Festival approaching in less than a month’s time, you may be scrambling to get your last-minute mooncake fix. If you’re looking for some interesting flavours for gifting or for your personal consumption, VivoCity offers over 40 brands to choose from.
Here’s another reason to head down: from now till 21 September, simply spend a minimum of $50 at the F&B outlets in the mall and you’ll get to redeem a $10 shopping or dining voucher. A maximum of two same-day receipts can be used. This promotion is limited to one redemption per person per day, for the first 60 shoppers daily. On top of this promotion, you can also look forward to special prices for the mooncakes listed below.
Kick things off the traditional way with BreadTalk’s latest collaboration with Thye Moh Chan. From now till 5 September, you can bring home the Golden Reunion ($54.72, U.P. $60.80) set that comes with four pieces of traditional Teochew mooncakes in flavours such as Salty Tau Sar and Salted Egg Yolk, along with three pieces of Momoyama Mooncakes, and two tubes of tea leaves.
Inspired by its namesake Japanese wagashi, Momoyama mooncakes are characterised by smooth and delicate skin made with white kidney beans.
As opposed to traditional renditions, the baked Momoyama skin is lower in fat and sugar, making it an ideal pick for the health-conscious. These mooncakes come in three flavour options: Osmanthus, Cudweed and Dan Feng Tea, available for purchase in a box of six at $36.72 (U.P. $40.80).
This year’s edition also sees two new Teochew mooncake flavours: Olive Vegetable Tau Sar with Salted Egg Yolk ($42.12 for four pieces, U.P. $46.80), and Mandarin Peel Red Bean ($36.72 for four pieces, U.P. $40.80). The former features smooth mung bean filling with crunchy melon seeds and salted egg yolk, studded with olive vegetable for that sweet-savoury fusion, while the latter combines sweet red bean paste with mandarin peel for a refreshing citrus fragrance.
From now till 5 September, enjoy 10% off each box of mooncakes, and 15% off when you buy two boxes or more! Check out the full range at BreadTalk, #B2-34.

A well-varied option would be the Boozy Tropicals ($70) set, which features four Alcohol-infused Snowskin Mooncakes, as well as four fruity flavours, including Sudachi Caramel, and Pink Guava Ume.
