Hole-in-the-wall coffee shops have a certain charm—offering a cosy, homey atmosphere in unexpected spots such as a back alley or under a HDB block. WAD Coffee, a new addition to the Bishan neighbourhood, is no exception, with friendly folks serving up kopi, coffee, and waffles to the residents nearby.

The menu is split into four categories: specialty coffee, local brews, non-coffee, and waffles. A simple cup of Kopi-O costs $1.50, while Kopi and Kopi-C are priced at $2 each.

We recommend trying something from the specialty coffee or non-coffee menu, though, as there are a few interesting options. The Strawberry Choc ($5) and Gula Melaka Latte ($6) are some examples if you prefer something sweeter and creamier.

Pair your drink with a waffle, available in six flavours starting from just $2. The simplest option, the Plain Boring, comes with no spread, while local favourites Kaya and Peanut Butter go for $2.50 each. For something a little indulgent, try Cream Cheese or Choc Hazel, both priced at $3.
WAD Coffee is a 13-minute walk from Bishan MRT Station, and is open every day except Wednesday. There are limited outdoor seats, but most diners opt for takeaway.
