Mahjong fans, if you think you haven’t played enough mahjong during Chinese New Year, this one’s for you. Wonders is a new mahjong-themed cafe in Ang Mo Kio that serves mochi waffles with unique ice cream flavours!
Wonders recently opened last month, their new cafe decorated with mahjong-inspired elements. If you haven’t noticed yet, their logo features an additional stroke above the letter “W” to replicate the number “13”, representing one of the winning hands in mahjong—13 Wonders.

Feel the extra huat as you step into the cafe, with the Chinese character 發 (fā), which means getting rich and prosperous, prominently displayed on a circular signboard.
All of their ice cream flavours are coined after mahjong lingo. For example, the Strawberry Cheesecake flavour is named 红中 (hóng zhōng), synonymous with the red 中 (zhōng) mahjong tile. The Chrysanthemum, Honey, and Cacao Nibs flavour is termed 花上 (huā shàng), a reference to the player drawing a flower tile during the game. Look out for other interesting flavours, such as their latest Pineapple Tart flavour, which was recently released this Chinese New Year!
Prices for their ice cream start from $4.20 for a single scoop. Top up an additional $1 and $2 for their Premium and Gourmet flavours respectively.
Complement your ice cream with their signature Pandan Mochi Waffles ($6). Their mochi waffle is said to boast a fragrant pandan flavour, with a crispy exterior and a soft, chewy texture. Alternatively, you can get your ice cream in a Cone ($1.30) or with Belgian Waffles ($6).

There is no excuse to miss out on their specialty coffee too, which comes with a beautiful 發 (fā) latte art. Try their White ($4.20) or Mocha ($4.80) to complement your ice cream.
