9 Best Restaurants In Singapore According To The Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2017 List

22nd February 2017

Asia’s top 50 restaurants and where Singapore’s top nine stand

Sometimes it’s easy for Singaporeans to underestimate our own food scene. But foodies, the list of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2017 has recently been released, and you’ll be pleasantly surprised to know that we hold nine spots in this prestigious compilation. Seven out of the nine are Michelin-star holders, and the two that are not are Burnt Ends and Tippling Club.

What’s more impressive is that three of our own are in the top 10, a testament to how Singapore’s culinary scene can hold its own even with such fierce competition.

Restaurant André clinched second place in the list, losing only to Gaggan from Bangkok. If that’s not enough to convince you of how good Restaurant Andre is, perhaps its two Michelin stars will.

Another two Michelin-star restaurant, Odette, is ninth on the list. This modern French restaurant is known for their beautiful food presentation and attention to detail. Check out our full review of Odette.

Burnt Ends just made it into the top 10. This modern Australian restaurant offers meats barbequed close to perfection using wood-fired ovens and grills.

The other Singaporean restaurants that made the list are: Les Amis (16th), Waku Ghin (20th), Corner House (23rd), Tippling Club (27th), Jaan (42nd) and Shinji by Kanesaka (44th).

This list is curated based on the votes of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants Academy. This culinary group comprises more than 300 food writers, chefs, restaurateurs and “well-travelled gourmets” across Asia chosen for their expertise in the Asian restaurant industry. They ranked their choices based on their personal dining experiences and the top 50 were determined by a voting system. The awards were presented at a gala in Bangkok earlier this month. Click here for more info on how voting is done.

We’ve linked all the restaurants to their official pages, so go ahead and make reservations or check out the outstanding restaurants in other Asian countries.
