If you’re yet to try ayam geprek, it is essentially ayam penyet cooked with boneless chicken, then blanketed in sambal. Papa Ayam is one such eatery that brought this dish to Singapore, serving up renditions with salted egg yolk to suit our local palate.
Purists can opt for the Ayam Geprek Original ($7.70) that comes slathered with garlic sambal. There are 15 spice levels for this dish to choose from, with a $0.50 top-up for levels 11 to 15. If spice is not your forte, their Ayam Geprek Salted Egg ($7.90) makes for a safe option. These dishes are usually served with rice, though you can switch to Indomie for an additional $0.60.
