Food places in central Singapore—specifically Orchard and Somerset—aren’t exactly the cheapest. But if you look hard enough, you’ll be able to find some wallet-friendly options. One of which is Hi Noodle, an under-the-radar noodle shop hidden in the basement of 313 Somerset.
Here their cheapest main is the Scallion Oil Noodle, priced at just $4.90Â per serving. The noodles are tossed in a fragrant oil, and topped with more fried scallions for extra flavour.

Those who love spicy can also try the Spicy Crayfish Noodle ($14.90), if you don’t mind splurging. You get a sweet, tangy, and spicy mix of peppers and juicy crayfish, atop a bed of noodles.

There are also interesting items such as the creamy and piquant Salted Egg Yolk Shrimp Noodle ($12.90), and a Chilli Crab Noodle ($14.90) that pays homage to the classic Singaporean dish. Don’t forget to head to the condiment counter for you to customise your own sauce mix to zhng-up your meal!
