Ola Acai is a new cafe with affordable acai bowls in Kovan
Acai bowls are not the most wallet-friendly desserts out there. You can, however, stretch your dollar at Ola Acai, a new cafe in Kovan serving affordable acai bowls from just $5.90. They also have healthy smoothies, as well as waffles with gelato!

The under-HDB cafe is located in the residential estate along Hougang Street 21, a 10-minute walk from Kovan MRT Station. They’re super near the famous Simon Road Hokkien Mee and Two Cranes cafe.
Despite being new to the neighborhood, they’ve already raked up a fair number of positive reviews on Google. Patrons have mentioned that the portions here are generous considering the affordable price tag. The Small, Medium, and Large bowls are priced at $5.90, $9.90, and $12.90 respectively.

Get the Nutz 4 Nuts bowl for a protein-packed dessert; this flavour comes with acai, banana, granola, almonds, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, caramelised cookie crumbs, and your choice of drizzle. For something more fruity, order the Island Gal, which swaps out the nuts for strawberries and mango chunks instead.
The acai base is said to be smooth and not too sweet, with a refreshingly tangy edge.

For something more indulgent, treat yourself to their lineup of gelato flavours on display, which rotate on a weekly basis. Look forward to limited-time flavours such as Biscotti Caramel and Hojicha, served atop freshly baked waffles that are said to be crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. The waffles are priced at $4 while a scoop of gelato starts at $4.
