Yuen Yeung is a new dessert cafe in Chinatown

There’s a new kid on the Chinatown block: Yuen Yeung, which refers to 鴛鴦, a popular Hong Kong beverage made of coffee and tea. The new cafe offers both traditional and modern Chinese desserts, ranging from mochi-infused bowls to milk puddings.

Their Fresh Strawberry Coconut Milk Snow ($8.90) is a popular pick for a hot day; cool down with the icy treat that’s capped with sweet strawberry chunks, smooth shaved ice, and creamy ice cream.
Alternatively, for something more indulgent, consider their Taro Paste Rice Mochi & Black Rice with Milk Snow ($6.50) or Fresh Mango & Black Rice with Coconut Snow ($9.80).

Durian fans can try Yuen Yeung’s signature Ultra Rich Durian Double Layer Milk Pudding ($6.70). You get a traditional, Hong Kong-style steamed milk pudding paired with a generous scoop of durian paste, which is said to boast a strong durian flavour.

Another signature item on the menu is their Matcha Mochi Peaks ($6.40), where a creamy and milky matcha dessert bowl is topped with QQ pearls.

If you’re in the mood for something more traditional, order their Pistachio Paste ($8.60), which comes in a vibrant green shade. This dessert is said to be smooth, well-balanced, and not too sweet, with a nutty aroma from the roasted pistachio bits.
