Those who frequented Chomp Chomp at some point in their lives may be familiar with Boon Tat BBQ Seafood, one of the many sambal stingray stalls in that hawker centre. Having started in 1985 as a hawker push cart along Boon Tat Street, the stall’s secret sambal, made with over 10 spices including candlenut, is what gives its grilled stingray its signature flavour.

Tanjong Rhu Pau, known for its iconic handmade pau, will also have an outlet here. Made from scratch daily in small batches using a signature yeast-free dough, the stall’s highlights include Da Pau and Char Siew Pau, filled with house-made char siew that’s smoky and sweet-savoury.

Nya Nya, a Peranakan stall by the folks behind Nonya Delicatessen, will be bringing their fragrant Nonya Laksa to this new food court. When we tried their Wisma Atria outlet, we enjoyed the dish’s spicy, coconut-based broth, thick bee hoon, and tau pok.

On an especially hot day at the zoo, have some chendol at the famous Old Amoy Chendol. Having started in the 1950s, the brand is known for its freshly cold-pressed coconut milk, charcoal-brewed gula melaka, and natural pandan chendol with zero preservatives.
