Abundance opens at Century Square with Taiwanese food
Easties have another new reason to head to Tampines Central for a meal: Abundance has opened at Century Square!
Abundance Opens In Jalan Besar, The Popular Taiwanese Cafe’s Second Location
This marks the brand’s third outlet—their first two other locations are at Lengkok Bahru in Redhill and Jalan Besar.
In case you didn’t know, Abundance is a popular Taiwanese cafe and restaurant that first started as a home-based business, before launching a brick-and-mortar eatery in 2021. They serve a wide range of Taiwanese-inspired eats, from loaded buns to fried rice and noodles.
Fans will be happy to know that this Tampines restaurant offers the same menu here, along with new items.
Their Gua Bao ($7.90++) is a crowd favourite that shot to fame on Abundance’s socials back when they were an online business. This classic Taiwanese snack comprises a steamed bun packed with a chunky braised pork belly slice, ground peanuts, pickles, and coriander to cut through the grease.
Alternatively, start your meal with the new Taiwanese Cold Noodles ($11.90++), where fresh noodles are tossed in a piquant garlic sesame sauce, and then topped with julienned cucumber and chilli oil.
Another new item on the menu is the Century Egg Noodles ($13.90++), starring thicker-cut noodles topped with stir-fried minced pork and a century egg sauce.
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this dish, considering that I wasn’t a fan of century egg. The springy noodles clung on well to the savoury meat and century egg mixture, while the house-made chilli sauce cut through the richness of everything.
For something comforting to share, order the Double Boiled Chicken ($12.90++), also a new addition to the menu.
This light and nourishing soup is loaded with ginger and spring onions, alongside fall-off-the-bone kampung chicken pieces.
For mains, the Oyster Braised Pork Rice is a must-try if you are a big fan of oysters. We recommend the 1/2 dozen portion for $28.80++, or if you’re up to splurge, go for the 1 dozen option at $38.80++.
First blanched, then served atop Abundance’s signature lu rou fan, the XL oysters were fresh, juicy, and not overly fishy.
Otherwise, you won’t go wrong with the popular Niu Yolk Fried Rice ($19++): short-grain fried rice served with 24-hour slow-cooked beef short ribs and a runny onsen egg.

If you’ve followed the restaurant’s journey since they started their OG outlet in Redhill, you’ll be familiar with their famous Peanut Ice Cream Roll ($6.90++). This quintessential street snack comprises vanilla ice cream, ground peanuts, and coriander, held by a thin popiah skin.
In addition to the popular ice cream roll, you can look forward to three new desserts at this Century Square restaurant.
End your meal with the sinful Yammy Ice Cream Bun ($12.90++), where a thick slab of yam ice cream, yam paste, and pistachio bits are held by a deep-fried mantou bun.
Alternatively, their Roasted Peanut Mochi ($7.90++), stuffed with a creamy peanut filling, is worth trying.
My favourite of the three was the Black Sesame Mochi ($7.90++), which came with a molten black sesame middle that was rich and earthy.
Wash everything down with a Fizzy Pandan Wintermelon Tea ($5.90++) or Fizzy Osmanthus Tie Guan Yin Tea ($5.90++)—the perfect treat on a hot day.
