AiFOKATO has DIY affogato in Telok Ayer
If never-ending workloads have you running on empty, head to AiFOKATO for a much-deserved pick-me-up. Located in the heart of Telok Ayer, this new cafe has made waves with their DIY affogato, fully customisable with a variety of gelato flavours and pours!

AiFOKATO doesn’t offer a fixed menu. Instead, you get to build your own dessert by choosing your preferred gelato and pour. Each cup goes for $10, no matter the flavour, so you can mix and match without worrying about the price.
To start, simply pick one of their four gelato flavours: Vanilla, Pistachio, Matcha, or Chocolate.
Thereafter, pair your scoop with a warm, comforting pour of Espresso, Matcha, or Chocolate.
For our first cup, we paired the Pistachio gelato with their Espresso.
As caffeine addicts, we enjoyed the bitter, robust espresso, zhinged up by the creamy and subtly nutty scoop of Pistachio ice cream.
If you’re a fan of matcha, we recommend getting the Chocolate gelato with their Matcha pour.
The rich, bittersweet Chocolate ice cream was the perfect match for the earthy and grassy matcha.
If you aren’t the adventurous type, you can always stick with the OG combo of Vanilla gelato and Espresso, blending smooth, sweet, and aromatic vanilla ice cream with a gao shot of espresso.
AiFOKATO is conveniently located along Telok Ayer Street, a quick two-minute walk from Telok Ayer MRT Station and an eight-minute walk from Raffles Place MRT Station. It’s also within walking distance of Maxwell, Chinatown, and Shenton Way MRT Stations.
Do note that they primarily operate on a takeaway basis, with only four stools outside the store. The place can get quite busy during peak hours, so we recommend heading down early to beat the crowds.
