Baristart Coffee opens cafe at Wisma Atria in Orchard
Coffee lovers in town have something to look forward to as Baristart Coffee is opening its latest outlet at Wisma Atria on 15 September 2023. Located on the fourth floor within the OCBC Wisma branch, this 56-seater cafe is the latest addition to Baristart Coffee‘s portfolio, which already includes two other outlets situated at Tras Street and Sentosa.
Established in 2015, the Japan-based cafe is known for their creative menu that spotlights Hokkaido milk, specifically BIEI Jersey Milk—velvety Hokkaido milk well-loved for its distinct creaminess. Fans of Baristart Coffee can expect to see popular favourites at this new outlet, including their well-loved sandos, coffee, and cream puffs.
Look forward to signature mains, including the Wafu Pasta ($19.80++), a Japanese fusion dish crowned with prawns and bacon strips. The star of this pasta is an unctuous, umami-packed butter and dashi sauce coating each noodle strand, zhnged up with a hit of spice from chilli padi and ito togarashi AKA Japanese dry chilli shreds.
If rice is your preferred choice of carb, go for their Obihiro Butadon ($19.80++) instead. The rice bowl comes with grilled pork belly coated in a house-made teriyaki sauce, on a bed of sweet and plump Hokkaido Nanatsuboshi rice.
If pasta isn’t your thing, try their Tonkatsu ($18.80++) instead. This hearty number features a chonky Hokkaido pork loin patty that’s breaded and deep-fried, then glazed with a sweet and tangy tonkatsu sauce. It’s sandwiched between two slices of crustless white bread, mustard butter, and shredded cabbage.
For those looking for something to share with the table, Hokkaido Zangi ($14.80++) AKA Hokkaido-style fried chicken is one great option. Squeeze over some lemon juice for added brightness to the deep-fried snack!
For desssert, don’t miss out on their indulgent Hokkaido Cream Puffs, priced at $7++ for one piece and $19.50++ for three pieces. Loaded with BIEI Jersey Milk custard cream, these puffs are some of the best in town. They’re rich and sweet, with sugary bits on top for an added crunch.

For soft-serve enthusiasts, the Hokkaido BIEI Jersey Milk Softcream (from $7+) beckons in cup or cone forms, with flavours such as Milk, Coffee, or a Mix of both. For something more unique, you can enjoy it as an Affogato at $8.50++.
If you’re in need of a caffeine fix, we highly recommend their Baristart Latte ($6.70++) that’s also made with the famous Hokkaido BIEI Jersey Milk. For an extra touch of flavour, consider adding Caramel, Vanilla, or Honey to your latte for an additional $1++.
You’ll find the new cafe on the fourth floor of the mall, right next to Food Republic, a five-minute walk from Orchard MRT Station. If the space looks familiar, that’s because they’re located within a bookstore called BookXcess! In the middle of the cafe, there’s a long, curved island table that’s perfect for remote working or dining solo when you need some me-time. Alternatively, there are some tables by the sides that are great for bigger groups.
