1. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is where it’s at if you’re seeking a spot to chill out with a cuppa coffee or tea. They are open round the clock, making it an ideal spot for chilling out any time of the day. The cafe also features ample natural lighting and a high ceiling which creates a comfortably roomy atmosphere.

They offer a vast selection of coffee, tea, ice-blended drinks, and cake slices. Explore their refreshing fruity cold brew tea series, featuring quality tea that’s steeped cold for over five hours. Choose from four different flavours available in Original or Sparkling: Peach Jasmine with Jelly ($8/$8.50/$9), Watermelon Mint Lychee ($8/$8.50/$9), Swedish Berries ($6/$6.40/$6.70), and Ceylon Black ($6/$6.40/$6.70). If you’re craving Indonesian fare, head down to Smile Martabak, which offers a myriad of Indonesian street food. They are most known for martabak, AKA Indonesian-style pancakes that are somewhat similar to min jiang kueh. They offer two kinds of martabak here: martabak manis, a sweet variation, and martabak telur, a savoury alternative.

If you have a penchant for sweet things, a must-try is the Original Choco-cheese Martabak ($5.95 for three pieces, $19.30 for 10 pieces). This decadent dessert is a flavour explosion, jam-packed with chocolate bits and finely shredded cheddar cheese, delivering a burst of sweetness accentuated with savoury notes for balance. Muslim-owned Kebabchi Biryani is the place to visit for an authentic taste of Pakistani flavours. Here, they offer a diverse range of dishes including briyani, curries, kebabs, desserts and more. Hailing from the Philippines, Avocadoria is a well-loved dessert chain that has been making waves in Singapore for their delicious avocado drinks, adored by the young and old alike. Following their successful launch in Singapore, Avocadoria has recently expanded with a second outlet here at Bedok Mall. The menu is diverse, offering a wide selection of avocado shakes, ice cream, and cheesecakes.

If you’re planning a gathering with your family or a group of friends, consider SAN REN XING for a delightful communal-style dinner featuring Fujian and Sichuan flavours. Their menu boasts over 80 dishes, including a diverse range of dim sum, rice and noodle dishes, double-boiled soups, steamed fish, meats, vegetables, and desserts.

You can’t leave without trying their Golden Thread Sweet Yam ($16.90), starring deep-fried yam chunks encased in a crispy shell, and coated in caramelised sugar syrup, which creates a captivating thread-like texture when lifted. This addictively sweet and crispy dish is complemented by the tender and flavourful yam.
